Named in Acts and the letters

A dashed outline marks someone who may be the same person as another entry. The conjecture is described on both entries, and they stay separate.

Where the names fall

One dot for each person a book names, in order of first mention. Pick a name anywhere on the page and its thread is drawn through the books.

Scripture text is the World English Bible, which is in the public domain. WEB follows the Byzantine Majority Text, so a few names differ from editions based on the critical text: Justus for Titius Justus, Amplias for Ampliatus, Nymphas for Nympha, Joses for Joseph.

A verse counts only when it uses the person's name. Jesus, figures from Israel's scriptures, and unnamed people such as Paul's nephew are left out. People who share a name are separate entries.
